Become a driving instructor

Train with an established, growing school. Get qualified, join our team and get your training fee back in full.

We train our own instructors

We are not a franchise that charges you a weekly fee and leaves you to get on with it. We train instructors ourselves because we care about the quality of teaching every learner receives. When you qualify with us and join the team, we refund your full training cost.

You can train alongside your current job. Most trainees complete the ADI qualification in six to twelve months.

The three-part ADI test

We prepare you for each part of the Approved Driving Instructor qualification.

  • Road procedure and traffic signs
  • Vehicle controls and mechanics
  • Driving test law and disabilities
  • Teaching and learning theory

Part 2: Practical driving test

A one-hour driving test where you show your own driving to an advanced standard. You must make no more than 6 driving faults and no serious or dangerous faults.

  • General driving ability
  • Vehicle safety questions
  • Reversing exercises
  • Emergency stop if requested

Part 3: Instructional ability test

You teach a real lesson while a DVSA examiner observes. You are scored on lesson planning, risk management and teaching strategies. 43 or more out of 51 earns a Grade A.

  • Lesson planning (12 marks)
  • Risk management (15 marks)
  • Teaching strategies (24 marks)
  • Pass threshold: 31 points (Grade B)
